We are the Champions!

Last week we had a lot of district games, and if you haven't heard already, the lady bears did really well! Volleyball last week played the district games at West Side. We did really well! We lost the first set, won the second and third, lost the fourth, and won for the third, and final time, in the fifth! They are headed to the state tournament in Buhl this Thursday. Good luck ladies! The district race for cross country was last week on Wednesday here at home. Thank you to everyone came out to support them! Elise Kelsey won the girls race and the title of district champion. The girls team will be taking 5 individuals to state This weekend in Pocatello. The boys did good as well! Tyler Saunders took 6th in the race and will be going to state as an individual! Football beat Aberdeen on Friday 20-14. Matthew Hammond scored three touchdowns as the Bears gained the number eight seed in the state tournament. Bears Prepare for Districts

Welcome Back Bears!!! This week we have a plethora of activities from Football and Volleyball to a social for FFA.  To wrap up last weeks volleyball, the Lady Bears dominated Soda Spring Carnivals on Thursday and then the Malad Dragons in 4 sets in West Side for the District Tournament on Saturday. This week the Lady Bears take on the West Side Pirates in West Side on Wednesday in the District Tournament. The District Tournament is a double elimination. Neither Bear Lake or West Side have a loss.. The winner of the Bear Lake/ West Side game will advance to the championship on Friday in West Side, where as the loser will take on the winner of the Soda vs. Malad game, and they both have 1 loss. The Aberdeen Tigers have been tamed and are no longer in the tournament.  The Bears are currently ranked 8th in the state football bracket! Bears Slay Dragons, Look to Bag Cardinals!

 Bear Lake Bears!  First off, the service a thon went very well! Our school helped with highway clean up, painting around town, and gardening at the hospital.  Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make our community a better place for everyone! Last week volleyball did really well and beat both Aberdeen and Malad This week, there is a volleyball game in Soda on Thursday, C-Team starts at 5, JV at 6 and Varsity at 7.  After that districts begins on Saturday in West Side. The Lady Bears still hold #1 ranking in the state. Football played Malad last week and won 20 to 8. Defense did well, only allowing one touchdown.  Jaxon Garbett had two out of Bear Lake's 3 interceptions. This week they face the Soda Springs Cardinals on Friday in Soda, with JV starting at 4 and Varsity at 7.   Cross country ran at the Bob Conley last week which was in Pocatello. The Dirt On The Dirt, Can You Dig It?

  The service-a-thon is today! Students will be completing service projects around the community. This is a great way to give back to the community. We have done some great service projects over the years and we encourage you to participate. In the past we have laid sod, made a retaining wall at the school, and have done many cleaning projects around town. The Lady Bears beat Soda Springs in 3 straight sets. Then the Lady Bears next traveled to West Side on Thursday and avenged an early season loss on our home court by defeating the pirates in 3 straight sets. Following this weeks victories the Lady Bears moved up to the number 1 spot in the state rankings. The lady bears this week traveled to Aberdeen Tigers. They then host the Malad Dragonettes on Thursday for Senior's Night.  Bear Lake Bears are to travel to Malad on Friday night to take on the Dragons in football. The Weekly Roar (September 29th)

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Last week volleyball went to Malad for the first time in ten years on Wednesday night, where varsity won 3 sets to 0 then on Thursday they went to Grace and won 3 sets to 0 as well! Good job Lady Bears!!!  Cross country last week had their meet home at Allinger park. Elise Kelsey, Kinsee Hansen, and Mitzi Hunt were the girls top three runners from Bear Lake and the boys top three runners from were Tyler Saunders, Taylor Roberts, and Sam Gertler! The Bear Lake girls finished 3rd overall, only losing to Highland and Pocatello. They will be running this week in Snake River on Friday. Also on Friday, there was a football game home against West Side, but unfortunately, we lost in a very hard-fought battle 7-0. West Side's only touchdown of the game came early in the second quarter set up by a long pass play. Bear Lake played well against the number one team in the state. They will have their bye week this week and return to district play in 2 weeks vs....

Bulldogs, Tigers, and Bears, O My!!

Good news! Last week we had a lot of wins!  Football last week went to Ririe on Friday and won 43-0.  Volleyball won against Aberdeen won 3 sets to 0, but unfortunately lost to West Side lost 3 sets to 1.  Our cross country team ran at West Side on Thursday and ran very well.  Then, the FFA went to dairy cow judging on Thursday in West Side.  The team took 3rd overall, and Kade Wells was the high placing individual placing 3rd in the district.   As for this week, Volleyball plays in Malad on Wednesday and in Grace on Thursday.  Cross country runs home on Friday. Girls run at 1:00 and Boys run at 2:00.  Football will play West Side on Friday here.  If you are available, come support the Cross country, and the football game. It's jersey night so come prepared if you can! Unrelated to sports, show choir is having auditions Wednesday and Thursday. Another Homecoming for the books!

Homecoming last week was a blast, but the fun doesn't end there! Just to wrap up last week, in cased you missed the homecoming football game, the winners of the homecoming royalty were Hattie Mattson and Chance Kearl for the juniors, and Hallie Skinner and Gabe Hillier for the Seniors. Congratulations to the winners and nominees! Unfortunately, we lost the game to the Firth Cougars 40-19, but before the game started we had a 9/11 tribute. All of our football players walked out to the field carrying flags while the band played the national anthem for us.  On Saturday, the cross country team went the the Tiger Grizz invitational on the Freeman Park in Idaho Falls. In the women's varsity race Elise Kelsey, Kinsee Hansen, and Elli Kelsey place in the top 20, and Katelyn Crane ran the JV race and took second! The boys ran well too, the top JV boys were Matthew Holmquist, Gabe Hillier, and TR Boehme, and the top varsity boys were Tyler Saunders, Taylor Roberts, and Sam Gertler.  Thi...
