We are the Champions!

Last week we had a lot of district games, and if you haven't heard already, the lady bears did really well!

Volleyball last week played the district games at West Side. We did really well! We lost the first set, won the second and third, lost the fourth, and won for the third, and final time, in the fifth! They are headed to the state tournament in Buhl this Thursday. Good luck ladies!



The district race for cross country was last week on Wednesday here at home. Thank you to everyone came out to support them! Elise Kelsey won the girls race and the title of district champion. The girls team will be taking 5 individuals to state This weekend in Pocatello. The boys did good as well! Tyler Saunders took 6th in the race and will be going to state as an individual!

Football beat Aberdeen on Friday 20-14. Matthew Hammond scored three touchdowns as the Bears gained the number eight seed in the state tournament. We will face the number nine seed West Jefferson Panthers in the opening round of the state playoff this Friday at 1. Hope to see you there and Go Bears! The Bear Lake FFA is hosting the Sadie Hawkins dance on November 7th from 7:00-10:00. Its $5 for singles and $10 for couples, and then pictures are $5. It is a girls choice dance so make sure you get your dates as soon as you can, because it is only in a couple more weeks!


Speaking of FFA. on Thursday, during lunch. FFA will be having a party in Mr. Wells' shop. They will be eating burgers and catching up with other FFA members.

Spring has Sprung!

  Cheer: Cheer went to Boise over the weekend to complete. They did not place in the top three but still did amazing! You go Ladies!!! Tryouts for next year will be held on April 27-30. They will start at 6-30 pm. Softball - Varsity played great in Firth and Wendell last week  winning 18 to 3 in firth and 14 to 3 in Wendell and losing 9 to 8 in Preston and the JV losing 13 to 15 in Preston but having an amazing comeback. This week they are playing in Idaho Falls on Friday. Lakettes - The ladies finished up their season at districts at American Falls taking 3rd place in hip-hop and 4th in lyrical but sadly they did not make it to state. The Lakettes are going over to the middle school April 8th to go perform for the upcoming freshman class. They are then holding tryouts April 12th, 13th, 15th, and 19th from 5-7 in the A.J.   Teacher feature- Rick Sanders -He started working here in 2009 and hopes to retire here. He enjoys working here and Loves his subject. He teaches P.E. Health and athletic training as well as teaching he coaches. Mr Sanders coaches cross country and boys basketball he coached a winning girls cross country team this year the girls team came in first in state and his boys basketball team got 3rd at state! -His favorite color is blue and his Middle name L his favorite animal is a horse he loves to go backpacking on horses in his spare time and he just loves being outdoors. He loves living in a small town and loves any outdoor activity. His all time favorite sport is football and he has a family he is married with five kids. He is overall a great teacher and coach!!!!!!    There is always a lot going on at Bear Lake High School, So we decided to put it all in a blog post to ma ke it simpler for everyone. The Bears beat number 1 seed West Side twice in two days to avenge an earlier district tournament loss to the pirates and take the District 5 championship. The Bears will play Ambrose in the first round of the state tournament Thursday March 4th.
