Rick Sanders







-He started working here in 2009 and hopes to retire here. He enjoys working here and Loves his subject. He teaches P.E. Health and athletic training as well as teaching he coaches. Mr Sanders coaches cross country and boys basketball he coached a winning girls cross country team this year the girls team came in first in state and his boys basketball team got 3rd at state!

-His favorite color is blue and his Middle name L his favorite animal is a horse he loves to go backpacking on horses in his spare time and he just loves being outdoors. He loves living in a small town and loves any outdoor activity. His all time favorite sport is football and he has a family he is married with five kids. He is overall a great teacher and coach!!!!!!

P.s. Asia is Sanders' fav Mc student, Asia is also her dad's fav kid.

Softball:

Softball  won Friday against American Falls Varsity 17 - 3 and JV 19-16 and has 3 home games this week 28th against Firth, 30th against Soda Springs, May 1st against Malad. 

Prom:

 Prom is May 7th and the theme is Starlight Jazz Club. Since prom is scheduled for Mother’s day weekend the last day to get flowers and corsages is April 29th. Hurry up and get asking your dates!

Baseball: 

Baseball played West Jay on Thursday and 10 runned them. This week they play against Malad at home on Wednesday, and at the bees stadium in Salt Lake on Thursday, and in Soda on  Friday.



Track:

The track team has a meet on April 30th in Soda. They also have a meet on April 30th and 31st in the Tiger Grizz meet. However, they are not taking everyone. The Tiger Grizz meet will have 40 other teams attending from Idaho, California, Wyoming, and Montana. Soda will have 9 other teams attending.

Spring has Sprung!

  Cheer: Cheer went to Boise over the weekend to complete. They did not place in the top three but still did amazing! You go Ladies!!! Tryouts for next year will be held on April 27-30. They will start at 6-30 pm. Softball - Varsity played great in Firth and Wendell last week  winning 18 to 3 in firth and 14 to 3 in Wendell and losing 9 to 8 in Preston and the JV losing 13 to 15 in Preston but having an amazing comeback. This week they are playing in Idaho Falls on Friday. Lakettes - The ladies finished up their season at districts at American Falls taking 3rd place in hip-hop and 4th in lyrical but sadly they did not make it to state. The Lakettes are going over to the middle school April 8th to go perform for the upcoming freshman class. They are then holding tryouts April 12th, 13th, 15th, and 19th from 5-7 in the A.J. Another Homecoming for the books!

Homecoming last week was a blast, but the fun doesn't end there! Just to wrap up last week, in cased you missed the homecoming football game, the winners of the homecoming royalty were Hattie Mattson and Chance Kearl for the juniors, and Hallie Skinner and Gabe Hillier for the Seniors. Congratulations to the winners and nominees! Unfortunately, we lost the game to the Firth Cougars 40-19, but before the game started we had a 9/11 tribute. All of our football players walked out to the field carrying flags while the band played the national anthem for us.  On Saturday, the cross country team went the the Tiger Grizz invitational on the Freeman Park in Idaho Falls. In the women's varsity race Elise Kelsey, Kinsee Hansen, and Elli Kelsey place in the top 20, and Katelyn Crane ran the JV race and took second! The boys ran well too, the top JV boys were Matthew Holmquist, Gabe Hillier, and TR Boehme, and the top varsity boys were Tyler Saunders, Taylor Roberts, and Sam Gertler.  This
