Spring has Sprung!

 Cheer: Cheer went to Boise over the weekend to complete. They did not place in the top three but still did amazing! You go Ladies!!! Tryouts for next year will be held on April 27-30. They will start at 6-30 pm.

Softball - Varsity played great in Firth and Wendell last week  winning 18 to 3 in firth and 14 to 3 in Wendell and losing 9 to 8 in Preston and the JV losing 13 to 15 in Preston but having an amazing comeback. This week they are playing in Idaho Falls on Friday.

Lakettes - The ladies finished up their season at districts at American Falls taking 3rd place in hip-hop and 4th in lyrical but sadly they did not make it to state. The Lakettes are going over to the middle school April 8th to go perform for the upcoming freshman class. They are then holding tryouts April 12th, 13th, 15th, and 19th from 5-7 in the A.J. Winters gym. Both boys and girls are welcome. The Lakettes banquet will be held April 14th in the Bear Lake High School cafeteria from 6-9. 



Golf - The golf team traveled to Aberdeen on 3/24 for their first meet and won and then will go on 3/31 during Spring Break in American Falls. Both JV and Varsity teams will play at each meet. This year's team has 27 golfers and will be happy when outside conditions clear up and they can practice outside on the grass.



Track - Bear Lake’s Track team did amazing at the meet in West Side on Wednesday! Bryson Crane took 2nd in the 200 meter, Kalisha Parker took 3rd for the girls in the 200 meter, Elise Kelsey took 1st for the girls in the 800 meter and 2nd in the mile. In the 3200 meter, Kinsee Hansen took 1st and Hattie Mattson took 3rd for the girls, and also took 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles. In the 4x100 relay, both the girls and boys teams took 2nd, and in the medley relay, both teams took 3rd! For shot put, Porter Collins took 2nd and Alex Alleman took 5th for the boys team. Audrey Probst took 2nd and Shelby Loertscher took 3rd! For the ladies, Shelby also took 3rd for Discus throw! For pole vault, Carter Turner took 3rd for the boys, and for long jump, Bryson Crane took 4th for the boys, and Dani Bassett took 3rd for the girls. And finally, for the girls, Dani Basset took 1st place, and Kalisha Parker took 2nd for the Triple Jump! Congrats to our track team for a great performance at the West Side meet! Their next meet will be Friday, April 2nd at Firth, so be sure to wish our track team good luck!

Prom - March 7th there is no theme yet but Mrs. Biss will get a list of prom by the end of spring break.


Baseball - Baseball is playing their first game March 23 against Preston in Preston and baseball will have their second game on the 25th of march. Good luck baseball!!!!


Rodeo - Rodeo has not started yet but it is coming up soon.

Time Capsule: After tearing down the old city hall located on Washington Street, the city found a time capsule from July 3rd, 1916. They invited a class from the A.J Winters Elementary to open the 105 year old time capsule at the city council meeting on March 3rd of 2021. In the capsule they found many things such as coins, stamps, military enlistment papers, pictures and an old newspaper.
