Cheerleaders Head to State: GO BEARS!!!

Cheer: Cheer has an exciting week. They are heading to Boise this weekend to compete in the State Championship tournament. Good luck ladies, we wish you the best of luck! Bear Lake Strong!

Softball: The girls have their first game on Wednesday the 17th of March in Firth Idaho. The girls then play in Wendell which is a double header on March 18th and again in Preston on March 19th. Baseball: The baseball team has a game this coming Thursday! They are going to Logan to play against the Preston Indians. We wish them luck as they play their first game in 2021!

Prom: Prom will be held on April 24th. Due to  school being canceled last year the previous prom decorations were not used. The same decorations will be used this year but no one has been told of the theme of them yet.

Lakettes: The Lakette team will be traveling to the Middle School April 8th to show routines and take questions from the current 8th grade class who will be incoming freshmen next year. Tryouts for next season will then be held on April 12, 13, 15 and 19th in the A.J. Winters gym from 5-7 pm. Both boys and girls are welcome!

Obscure holidays: National Napping Day: Monday March15th. Then March 16th is national panda day 


Countdown: 

Grade Check: First grade of the trimester is in 2 days!

Last day of school: the last day of school is in 73 days

Prom: Prom is in 40 days

Softball: First game is tomorrow!

Baseball: First game is in 2 days!

Track: First meet is in 2 days at West Jefferson at 2:30 on  Friday May 19th.


Golf


Golf has their first meet in Aberdeen March 24th for the boys varsity and JV, then their 2nd meet is in American Falls during spring break on the 31st of March. The golf team also has 27 golfers this year. They are also very ready for the snow to melt so they can practice on grass instead of inside the school.

Spring has Sprung!

  Cheer: Cheer went to Boise over the weekend to complete. They did not place in the top three but still did amazing! You go Ladies!!! Tryouts for next year will be held on April 27-30. They will start at 6-30 pm. Softball - Varsity played great in Firth and Wendell last week  winning 18 to 3 in firth and 14 to 3 in Wendell and losing 9 to 8 in Preston and the JV losing 13 to 15 in Preston but having an amazing comeback. This week they are playing in Idaho Falls on Friday. Lakettes - The ladies finished up their season at districts at American Falls taking 3rd place in hip-hop and 4th in lyrical but sadly they did not make it to state. The Lakettes are going over to the middle school April 8th to go perform for the upcoming freshman class. They are then holding tryouts April 12th, 13th, 15th, and 19th from 5-7 in the A.J. Another Homecoming for the books!

Homecoming last week was a blast, but the fun doesn't end there! Just to wrap up last week, in cased you missed the homecoming football game, the winners of the homecoming royalty were Hattie Mattson and Chance Kearl for the juniors, and Hallie Skinner and Gabe Hillier for the Seniors. Congratulations to the winners and nominees! Unfortunately, we lost the game to the Firth Cougars 40-19, but before the game started we had a 9/11 tribute. All of our football players walked out to the field carrying flags while the band played the national anthem for us.  On Saturday, the cross country team went the the Tiger Grizz invitational on the Freeman Park in Idaho Falls. In the women's varsity race Elise Kelsey, Kinsee Hansen, and Elli Kelsey place in the top 20, and Katelyn Crane ran the JV race and took second! The boys ran well too, the top JV boys were Matthew Holmquist, Gabe Hillier, and TR Boehme, and the top varsity boys were Tyler Saunders, Taylor Roberts, and Sam Gertler.  This
