Time to take a breath between seasons!

 Bears! We don't have a lot going on this week

Last week on Friday, the football team went to Firth to play in the state quarter finals. Unfortunately, we lost 30-20. The Bears football season is over for the year, but they played really hard and made the community proud. Congratulations boys on an amazing season!





There wasn't anything else last week since the other two fall sports are over, so on to this week!

The girls basketball team will be participating in a jamboree Tuesday night. These games don't count so they are just for practice and fun, but the first game of the girls season will be on Saturday. Both the jamboree and the game on Friday will be broadcast on KVSI, and the game on Friday will also be broadcast on the NFHS Sports Network. Good luck ladies and Bear Lake Strong!





Wrestling is is starting  so if you are interested, practice starts on Friday. 



Due to COVID-19 concerns, the band and choir concert that was going to be tonight is postponed for now. Check back next week for more details on that so we can support the band and choir!

  5. When you were younger did you dream you would be a teacher?/ What was your dream job? Wanted to be a director. 
  6. What was your favorite subject in school? All of them.
  7. What is your favorite part about being a teacher? “Trying to get other people to get as smart as I am.”
  8. What is your least favorite part about being a teacher? Grading.
  9. What school other than Bear Lake would you like yo teach at? None, if she left she would more than likely do something else.
  10.  What extracurricular activities did you do in high-school? Lakettes, band, student council, drama, theater, honors society, and acadeca.
  11. What do you like to do in your free time? Sleep or read.

Spring has Sprung!

  Cheer: Cheer went to Boise over the weekend to complete. They did not place in the top three but still did amazing! You go Ladies!!! Tryouts for next year will be held on April 27-30. They will start at 6-30 pm. Softball - Varsity played great in Firth and Wendell last week  winning 18 to 3 in firth and 14 to 3 in Wendell and losing 9 to 8 in Preston and the JV losing 13 to 15 in Preston but having an amazing comeback. This week they are playing in Idaho Falls on Friday. Lakettes - The ladies finished up their season at districts at American Falls taking 3rd place in hip-hop and 4th in lyrical but sadly they did not make it to state. The Lakettes are going over to the middle school April 8th to go perform for the upcoming freshman class. They are then holding tryouts April 12th, 13th, 15th, and 19th from 5-7 in the A.J.   Teacher feature- Rick Sanders -He started working here in 2009 and hopes to retire here. He enjoys working here and Loves his subject. He teaches P.E. Health and athletic training as well as teaching he coaches. Mr Sanders coaches cross country and boys basketball he coached a winning girls cross country team this year the girls team came in first in state and his boys basketball team got 3rd at state! -His favorite color is blue and his Middle name L his favorite animal is a horse he loves to go backpacking on horses in his spare time and he just loves being outdoors. He loves living in a small town and loves any outdoor activity. His all time favorite sport is football and he has a family he is married with five kids. He is overall a great teacher and coach!!!!!! The Bears beat number 1 seed West Side twice in two days to avenge an earlier district tournament loss to the pirates and take the District 5 championship. The Bears will play Ambrose in the first round of the state tournament Thursday March 4th.
